Build and Launch Rockets with the LGA!

Sponsored by Lovejoy Gifted Association and DARS and available to all students (recommended for 5th – 8th grade, parents may use their own discretion).

 Watch the Demonstration Launch*Thursday, Jan. 28 at SCIS — 1 rocket launched during last 15 min. of each lunch period behind school — Parents are welcome to attend

Build Your Own Rocket  — Monday, February 29 at 6pm in Sloan Creek Cafeteria

Rockets MUST be purchased in advance! Sign-up and purchase your rockets online at http://lovejoygifted.org/rocket-project-2016/

 Launch Your Rocket*Sunday, March 6 (Noon) at Lovejoy High School or Saturday, March 19 from 10am-4 pm in Frisco with Dallas Area Rocket Society (DARS)

Adult Supervision is required for both the Build and Launch events  

* — Launches may need to be rescheduled if weather conditions are adverse

Gifted and Talented Referrals

Gifted and Talented Referrals

The deadline for gifted and talented referrals for the 2015-2016 school year is May 1, 2015. All forms must be received by 4:00 p.m. Referral forms and information can be located at http://www.lovejoyisd.net/MP.cfm?P=2915. Parents, teachers, or other staff members may nominate a student. Students may also self-nominate. 

 

**5th grade parents- – If your child is currently in GT Language Arts and GT Social Studies and would like to test for Science, then you need to complete a referral.

REMINDER: The LGA presents “Talent Development” April 15

The Lovejoy Gifted Association presents “Talent Development”  by Todd Kettler Ph.D., on Wednesday, April 15 at 7:00p.m. in the Lovejoy High School Lecture Hall.  Find out more about the nature of giftedness and the role of parents and families in developing talent and supporting giftedness. Dr. Kettler is an assistant professor at UNT and teaches courses in gifted education, creativity, and child development.
