LGA Supports Our Teachers with Grants

LGA Supports Our Teachers with Grants

LGA provided grants to every campus in the Lovejoy district last year.  The elementary schools received materials specifically for Kindergarten through second grade, and math manipulatives and books for fourth and fifth grades. Sloan Creek Intermediate School also received books for the ELAR class library and manipulatives for math. Willow Springs Middle School received a grant for digital spectrometers to enhance the astronomy studies in science class. Lovejoy High School brought in a guest speaker with their LGA grant. Our grant program targets the wishes of the GT teachers by giving them an opportunity to pick specific materials or activities to enrich the students’ education.

Message from Outgoing LGA President – Diana Lydon Gifford

Message from Outgoing LGA President – Diana Lydon Gifford

Serving on the LGA board has been a great pleasure and it has been very exciting to watch our organization evolve and grow. As president I have had the satisfaction of hearing from other GT organizations around our area that LGA has a reputation for being a strong parent lead group with high parent participation.  I am very proud of the work the LGA board has done to support our GT students, their families and our GT teachers.

I want to thank the Lovejoy district administration for their support and commitment to our organization.  To all those LGA board members with whom I have served with over the years I sincerely thank you for your service, your support and friendship and I wish the incoming LGA President, Geri Anne Larimer, and the new board a great year ahead.
